2026 Scholarship Application

Friends of AALA is awarding fifty (50) $3,000 scholarships totaling hundred fifty thousand dollars to comprehensive high school seniors, options school seniors, small school seniors, and community adult school graduating students. Congratulations go to the LAUSD CLASS OF 2026!
Each scholarship recipient will receive a financial stipend to assist with educational pursuits. These awards are made possible through the generous donations received by Friends of AALA, nonprofit corporation. The campaign to raise funds is in progress. As always, we look forward to your continued support. Our students need the help more than ever.
Attached is a copy of the application for the 45th Annual Student Scholarship Award. The criteria for selection include Academic Achievement, School, and Community Service, and financial need. Along with the application, a student must submit an essay and a sealed and official transcript. (Refer to the application for essay and official transcript requirements.); a list of extracurricular activities, school/community service, and work experience; and one letter of recommendation from a school counselor, teacher, or administrator on official LAUSD letterhead. Scholarship recipients will be notified in late March 2026.

Please duplicate the application and make it available to all interested students. Completed applications, including required supporting documents, are to be mailed to AALA – 1910 W. The Friends of AALA Scholarship and Community Awards Banquet will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at California State University, Los Angeles, 4:30 p.m. Should one of your students be selected for an award, you and the parents/guardians will be invited to the banquet as guests of Friends of AALA. The evening is always a wonderful celebration of academic achievement.
